Joanna Coles shows up, looking fabulous as ever. She meets with Austin and tells him that his fabric is hideous, but she knows he will make it fabulous. He’s like, “Uhh, yeah!” Next she meets with Kara, who plans on making a V-neck top with a maxi skirt. See, I was right! Totally boring. Joanna thinks it’s lacking creativity and ambition. It is, Kara. She is right. Naturally, Kara melts down over this. How about, I dunno, designing something I can’t buy at Forever 21? Kara is such a bummer this season. She was so remarkable back in the day. Mondo has a great fabric, which he’s going to spice up with some gold lining and sleeves. Jerell is creating this crazy ass jacket that is adorned with all kinds of shit. Joanna warns him not to over-accessorize, because he’s already got so much going on. She meets with Kenley and remarks that it’s the first time she isn’t doing polka dots. Ha! So true. In all fairness, her plans seem pretty excellent. I don’t know how, but I started to like Kenley’s work somewhere along the line. Gross.
